Welcome Baby H | CT Birth Photographer

On Sunday, May 19, 2019, I received a text from my beloved client Becky, that she had been experiencing contractions that afternoon. Her due date was for the 20th and she was early with her first son, so I was eagerly waiting for her to tell me that.

An hour or so later, she was headed into the hospital, and I decided to get into the car and begin heading her way (an hour or so travel for me). Her first son was a very quick birth, and I didn’t want to miss this one if it was quick as well!

I arrived, and Becky was experiencing some big contractions. She was surrounded by her fellow nurse friends, her birth team, and her husband. Music was playing, between contractions she was laughing and telling stories, and the vibe of the room was calm and welcoming. We all took guesses on whether their baby was going to be a boy or a girl, (it was a surprise!)

She labored in the tub, her team surrounding her. Her contractions intensified, and she made her way back to the bed where she quickly pushed her beautiful boy earth-side.

It was a wonderful birth to be a part of, and to experience such support of a birthing mama.
